Instruction of Glass-lined-steel Equipment
1.Technical specification of glass-lined- steel equipment
1. Allowable pressure MPa
a. Note: inside pressure borne can be changed in accordance with different contact.
b. Allowable temperature:0°C-200°C for agitator,0°C-150°C for storage tank; Temperature resistance; chilling shock 110°C, thermal shock 120°C; Tem-perature should be slowly changed while heating of cooling glass lined-steel products.
c. Thickness of glass layer: 0.8mm-2.0mm for equipment. 0.6mm-2.3mm for fittings
d. Voltage resistance: the glass coating has very good insulating property. Within its specified thickness, working area does not conduct when testing with 20KV high frequency voltage.
e. Corrosion proof: organic or inorganic acid, organic solvent and weak alkaline corrosion can be endured except hydrofluoric acid, media containing fluorine-ion ,oil of vitriol and alkali with their density over 30% and temperature higher than 180°C.
f. Nonstick: with the smooth and nonstick surface, they are very suitable to food industry and adhesive material’s process.
2. Assembly, utilization and maintenance of glass-lined-steel equipment.
a. Before lifting, glasslined surfaces should be carefully checked for perfectness. if entering is needed, rubber sole shoes must be worn lest the surfaces are damaged. For any lifting and transportation, only handles can be used. The glass-lined surfaces, union part and fasteners are not allowed impact, and whole equipment cannot be rolled of prized by tommy bar.
b. While tightening fasteners, forces should be applied symmetrically and uniformly in order not to damage enamel suface because of partial over stress. For the puposes of good sealing, hot water vapor should be slowly sent into aquipment, then tightening fasteners when rubber gaskets soften.
c. Welding on the outer wall of the equipment is strictly forbidden.
d. All gasket and shim materials should be chosen according to media and temperature in reaction(gaskets and shims fitted in equipment are as general conditions).
e. While installing agitators, radial clearance in sealing section of shaft has to be adjusted to minimum. And reversion and drop of agitator should be avoided.
f. Glass-lined-steel equipment can not be used in the reaction and storage of below media.
(a) hydrofluoric acid
(b) alkali media of PH≥12 and temperature≥100°C.
(c) phosphoric acid of thickness≥30% and temperature≥180°C.
(d) continually using the same equipment for acid and alkaline reaction
(e) other media containing fluoric ion.
g. In the process of using, temperature has to be increased of decreased slowly to prevent shorting of nature life of enamel damage because of its thermal of cold stress.
h. Pay much attention to sealing of flanges. If leakage is discovered, measures should be taken by neutralization and wash with water.
i. While entering, put a piece of soft cushion in bottom and also wear rubber sole shoes in order to protect inside surface, if outlet bloked, wooden or other soft bar can be used but metal tools absolutely forbidden.
j. In the process of using, regular inspection should be carried out. If finding the scraps of glass in outlet materials, you have to check immediately, locate broken area and treat in time.
